Punk’s Not Dead est un documentaire de 1h30 sur l’univers de la musique Punk, de ses codes, sa scène, son style.
Je l’ai découvert par le biais de la participation du groupe canadien Sum 41 (quelques apparitions) en 2007. Depuis le film à plutot bien marcher un peut partout sur la planète, il fut produit par Susan Dynner & Todd Traina. Il s’agit d’un documentaire indépendant fait en DIY. Ce film est volontairement axé « grand public », certains pourront se dire que certains groupes présent dans le documentaire n’y ont pas leur place; ceux en quoi je rétorque que c’est faux. Chacun et à sa manière est punk; et d’une manière ou d’une autre ces groupes ont contribués à l’essor du mouvement Punk/rock. Certains naturellement, d’autre lors de la belle époque de MTV.
L’important (comme dans chaque documentaire) c’est de comprendre. Maintenant faites-vous votre propre opinion sur le sujet !

Director Susan Dynner’s first-hand experience of Washington DC’s punk scene in the Eighties and her continued love of punk music spurred the making of this self-financed, independent documentary true to the D.I.Y. spirit of punk culture. Punk’s Not Dead combines intelligent, insightful commentary with live performances, behind-the-scenes anecdotes and a killer soundtrack.
